We’ve become used to seeing A LOT of Miley Cyrus. Like, everything. No camel-toe-inducing leotard is too high, no nipple-flashing crop top too low for the former Disney star. But just when we thought we’d see it all Miley has gone and done a Kimmy K –posing in a completely nude full frontal polaroid – with just a blob of foam covering her private area. Thank God for the foam. Sometimes it feels like we see Miley’s vagina more than our own.
The revealing picture was snapped by Miley’s friend Cheyne Thomas as part of a series for V Magazine called Diary of A Dirty Hippy, how apt. Other shots in the feature show Miley flashing her nipples as she pulls down a sports bra while wearing a pair of high cut knickers. We should be thankful she bothered with the pants quite frankly.
Miley, 22, is no stranger to posing for controversial snaps – from being pictured with what appeared to be drug paraphilia to flashing every inch of her body. Here’s a run-down of five of her most provocative moments...
1) ‘Drug den’
Just weeks ago the National Enquirer ran a picture of Miley on the front page with the headline ‘Inside Miley’s drug den’. The picture showed a table with what appeared to be cannabis, a rolled up note and vail of white powder. You can see the page here.
2) Terry Richardson
He’s famous for getting his subjects to pose provocatively but Terry and Miley’s shoot in 2013 broke some serious boundaries and not in a good way. Miley pulled up that red leotard so high I wondered if we would be able to see the contents of her stomach and no-one needs to observe her thrusting her hips forward with that can positioned in front of her crotch. This shoot was also the beginning of Miley’s tongue which found its own celebrity towards the end of 2013 and well into 2014.
3) Topless at 15
Miley appears to be doing anything and everything to move away from the wholesome Disney starlet that found fame as Hannah Montana. But even when she was aged 15 Miley was still causing controversy thanks to a shoot with Annie Leibovitz. Parents of HM fans complained about the image seen in Vanity Fair which showed teenage Miley topless with a blanket wrapped around her. At the time Annie defended the snap and said: "The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little make-up, and I think it is very beautiful."
4) Wrecking Ball
Who would have thought a naked Miley (safe for a pair of brown work boots) writhing around on a wrecking ball in the 2013 music video could be such a hit! Cue a thousand (brilliant) imitations. We’re still not sure why she was licking that hammer though.
5) Twerk it!
And finally we couldn’t forget the moment Miley debuted the phenomenon known as twerking, by grinding up against (a then-married) Robin Thicke with that foam finger and a tongue that appeared to have a mind of its own at the MTV VMAs in 2013. We won't be forgetting that performance any time soon.
So where will Miley go from here? What would be most shocking is if she managed to keep some clothes on for two minutes. Wishful thinking perhaps.
