Hairspiration Of The Week: Braids

Emma Stone1 of 11

Emma Stone

Giving other lobbers (that's long bob wearers to the uninitiated) a run for their money, the queen of tousled works some loose waves.

Erin Heatherton2 of 11

Erin Heatherton

A big, loose French braid, fashioned into a crown, with elegant tendrils falling loose. We love.

Kristen Stewart3 of 11

Kristen Stewart

It's a boy/girl thing with this slicked-back, almost-quiff. Rockabilly cool.

Sarah Hyland4 of 11

Sarah Hyland

Newly blonde, Sarah's giving us serious hair envy with this textured ponytail.

Jennifer Aniston5 of 11

Jennifer Aniston

Face-framing lengths and a neat bun make for a pretty look.

Thandie Newton6 of 11

Thandie Newton

The softest of waves adds volume to Thandie's relaxed look.

Jennifer Lopez7 of 11

Jennifer Lopez

J.Lo's also joined the pony club - and her playful, swishy style is best in show.

Viola Davis8 of 11

Viola Davis

We love Viola's look: neat curls, a little mussed up is the perfect mix of done and undone.

Poppy Delevingne9 of 11

Poppy Delevingne

Unfussy and chic - if only Delevingne cool came in a bottle.

Mindy Kaling10 of 11

Mindy Kaling

We love this ombre mix of deeper caramel hues in Mindy's locks.

Hannah Simone11 of 11

Hannah Simone

Making a case for a fuller fringe, Hannah's hair has almost mirror-like shine.

Look, deep down, you just KNOW you're a princess, right? Even though 'historians' refuse to acknowledge your noble lineage, people don't use the official HRH title and there's some kind of 'restraining order' including 'must stay 200 yards from Buckinham Palace at all times' in your name, you know you're a princess. Well, us too, and when the budget won't stretch to Tiffany's, sometimes you've got to get creative. Enter Erin Heatherton and her dreamy crown braid which has us slightly oohing and aahing this week - she perfectly struck the balance between quirky cool and off duty model.

We love the loose texture, the soft height of the braid and the tendrils falling loose around her face - she looks like the woodland nymph brand of princess, rather than the J.Crew wearing sort. It's a lovely blend of a tricky trend with a laid back, bedhead feel which keeps it from being try-hard. But Erin's do isn't the only one we've been lusting after this week: Viola Davis, Mindy Kaling and Kirsten Stewart have all given us some food for though when it comes to our tresses.

Viola's been working a very ladylike (but still fresh) set of gorgeous, glossy curls, whereas Mindy went for looser, more slept-in ombre waves that are really youthful and fun. And if tumbling locks aren't your bag, then look to Ms Stewart, whose slicked back 'do had a nod to the wet look trend, while being true to her more tomboy style.

We're also happy to see Jennifer Aniston still having fun with a bun - who knows, maybe before long, a neat updo will be the new 'Rachel'...
