Belfast 1st - 7th December "Now in its 10th year in the grounds of City Hall, the continental Christmas markets make a festive return to Belfast until 21st December. Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas for me without a wander around the twinkling huts filled with delicious smelling fare from sweet crepes and bubbling raclette to mouthwatering Pofitjes and gamey wild boar burgers. Grab a Yuletide bratwurst, a mug of soothing Gluwein and head to Lavery’s Irish bar in the middle of the market for some traditional live music."
Bristol 1st - 7th December "Support Bristol's independent retailers by buying all your Christmas shopping on fashionable, Gloucester Road! To celebrate their extended Christmas opening hours, a group of indie stores are hosting an array of events and activities this Tuesday evening. Expect goody bags, tasty treats, hot drinks and fantastic live music while you get your shop on! For more info, visit the Room 212 website."
Cheshire 1st-7th December - "It has suddenly taken a turn for the chilly, so this week enjoy the outdoors and take a wintery stroll through the park and gardens at Dunham Massey. The beautiful fallow deer will get you in the mood for Christmas, and the lake and hall look so stunning at this time of year. Warm up with a hot chocolate in their lovely restaurant afterwards and buy a few stocking fillers in their shop. Embrace the cold!"
Hull 1st – 7th December - "Pie, stew, soup and sausage rolls have December written all over them! Hull Pie is the perfect place for lunch during the winter months when your sandwich just doesn't cut it! With one shop in the Old Town, one on Newland Avenue and a third little hut outside of St Stephens, Hull Pie (1,2 & 3) are my #whattodothisweek - try one of everything, it's winter and you deserve it!"
Leeds 1st-7th December - "If you want variety when it comes restaurants, cafes, bars and street food, head to Trinity Kitchen in the landmark Trinity Shopping Centre in Leeds. From Vietnamese (Pho) to Mexican (Tortilla), Indian (Rola Wola) and more, you'll be spoiled for choice. Family friendly, great tasting, value for money food. Fabulous!"
Norwich 1st – 7th December - "Harleston will be hosting their Christmas weekend starting on Friday 5th with the town's lights being switched on at 6pm by a surprise celebrity guest! Enjoy a fun packed programme of music and entertainment, plus late night shopping, with craft, gift and food stalls lining the streets. Plus Father Christmas’s grotto and funfair rides will keep the children entertained!"
Surrey 1st – 7th December - " Haslemere Christmas Market on Sunday 7th December is a thriving shopping experience boasting gift ideas, a farmers’ market, locally made produce and Santa’s grotto for children. While you’re in Surrey’s most southerly town, you can go for a walk up the beautiful historic high street and have a hearty Sunday lunch in one of the many restaurants or pubs."
Sheffield 1st-7th December - I recently asked Twitter what salon in Sheffield would give me a really good head massage as well as a great cut. The result? Wigs and Warpaint . Located in West One, it offers beauty treatments as well as male and female hairdressing services. Oh and cocktails are on the house too!
Here at Grazia Daily we love to explore the UK whenever we get the chance but with our offices based in London it’s sometimes tricky to bring you the need to know from around the UK. So each week our regional bloggers will be sharing their favourite things to do and see outside of the Big Smoke. Have any suggestions? Tweet the bloggers using the hashtag #WhatToDoThisWeek and let them know which of your fave places they should be visiting next. They might just recommend it next week!
Forget splashing out on an expensive plane trip to an exotic destination, instead why not explore your local area or jump on a train to a UK city you’ve yet to visit? Let our blogger gallery be your guide. After all, our beloved country has been a destination for many an international A-list. Remember Taylor Swift and Harry Styles larking about in the Lake District? Or what about Brand Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s brood hot footing it to Lake Windermere! If it's good enough for them, count us in.
Scroll through the gallery above for this week's inspiration and take a look at our regional blogger profiles below.
