At the risk of slipping into hyperbole, the best thing imaginable just happened and you’re definitely going to have to take the rest of the day off to deal with it. Yes, you guessed it, the cast of 'Mean Girls' have reunited. Scream!

For the film’s tenth anniversary, Entertainment Weekly invited the female leads to reminisce about the movie which we still quote on a daily (read: hourly) basis. Here are some the gems within...

Lindsay Lohan originally wanted to play Regina

‘I was still 17 years old and I wanted to be the cool girl on set’, she explains. ‘So I had a war with [the director], and he goes, “No, Cady is the heroine, and that’s who you are.” Then I sat in all the auditions. Amanda auditioned to play Regina as well. It ended up being Rachel, and she’s wonderful.’

Those rumours about a feud between Lindsay and Hilary Duff were true

...according to Tina Fey. The writer reveals, ‘There was one day where [Lindsay] tried to explain to Amy and me her beef with Hilary Duff, but we couldn’t crack it. But we were pretending we could follow it.’

The cast speculate on what the characters would be up to now

‘Karen would manage or own a store that sells really cool dog attire, like Swarovski dog collars and Halloween costumes for animals. She’s probably really focused,’ speculated Amanda Seyfried. Lindsay predicted that her character Cady would be ‘with Oprah in Africa working at children’s schools with a family, teaching girls to be nice to each other.’ And Regina? Rachel reckons she’d be ‘a Real Housewife. She’d have too much time on her hands, for sure. She’s probably found all her other Reginas'.

Don’t expect a sequel any time soon

According to Tina, ‘At the time we did want to start the conversation about the sequel, and for whatever reason I was like, “No!!! We shouldn’t do that!” Now I look back and I’m like, “Why?” But now, no—it’s too late now.’ Sadface.
