If you follow @Grazia_Live on Instagram (and if you don't you can amend that error here), you may have noticed we were at a little something called the MTV EMAs last night in Glasgow. With her Minajesty herself Nicki Minaj taking care of hosting duties and performances from the likes of Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys and Slash (!!) it was easily *the *music event of the year.

So what were our highlights? We've rounded up the best bits from the event including Nicki Minaj as the Queen of Scots, Jourdan Dunn working her new do in that faaabulous Donna Karan sheer dress and Ed Sheeran's most dynamic performance to date - complete with dancers!

All hail her Minajesty. As if we didn't already love Nicki Minaj and her brand of kooky hip-pop enough, the self-professed Barb made us fall head over heels last night with her hilarious hosting abilities, numerous ah-mazing outfit changes and incredible performance. Taking to the stage to perform a rendition of 'Super Bass' and bootylicious anthem of the year 'Anaconda', she also premiered one of her most personal songs to date, 'Bed Of Lies' which details her recent break up, proving herself queen of Hip Hop. Again. And of the Scots too, apparently. Spitting custom made bars crafted specifically for the Scottish audience Nicki rapped: 'Queen, that's what they call me, 'cuz I'm balling with a tartan army!' culminating in well known Scottish ditty '500 Miles' to the absolute delight of the crowd. Grazia Daily included!

It's been one heck of a year for pop princess Ariana Grande. Having met Iggy Azalea exactly 12 months ago at last year's EMAs, their collaboration 'Problem' charted in the top 10 for 16 (!) consecutive weeks, catapulting her into another league. Acknowledging the collaboration was due in some part to that fateful eve, Ariana Grande basically spent the most time on the stage last night (after hostess with the mostess Nicki Minaj, of course), collecting two awards (out of a possible six she was nominated for) for both Best Pop Song and Best Female. The 21-year-old also had the honour of opening the show last night, performing an energetic rendition of break-out single 'Problem' before popping herself in a glass bubble to - no joke - fly across the room to close her performance in front of a screen that displayed a giant, burning sun. Because really, who needs to walk when you can fly!

Leader of the fash pack on the EMA red carpet, one of our fave supermodels Ms Jourdan Dunn continued to slay in her gorgeous Donna Karan sheer dress complete with thigh high split and new fab bob. She looked super cute on stage presenting Miss Minaj with the award for best Hip Hop. We'd have paid good money to be a fly on the wall backstage - did they become besties? Exchange fierce tips? We wanna know!

Like pretty much the rest of the world, we can't get enough of Ed Sheeran. Supremely humble on his quest for world domination the singer, songwriter has amassed pretty much every accolade going. Taking to the stage last night for his most dynamic performance yet, Ed rendered the thousands strong crowd into putty in his hands with a rendition of the goosebump inducing 'Thinking Out Loud' complete with acrobatic dancers.

Because really, what's a party without a bit of madness? From the SSE Hydro where the main event took place, selected guests boarded shuttles to one of Glasgow's finest nightclubs - Arches - where the MTV EMA afterparty kicked celebrations up a notch. Guests were very well fed (trays of delicious bitesized snacks including mac and cheese balls - yes! mac and cheese deep fried in bread crumbs yummm) and watered, with an open bar serving up a number of divine Patron Tequila cocktails and other offerings. With DJ sets from everyone from Afrojack, Horsemeat Disco and Jodie Harsh and a whole host of colourful characters it was an after party to remember, or forget, depending on how many of those Patron Tequila cocktails you downed!
