UPDATE: We already know H&M is celebrating Christmas by teaming up with Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett for a brilliantly jazzy campaign. And now it's been revealed the pair will be singing 'It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)' from their new album, Cheek To Cheek in the TV commercial. Get a taster of the toe-tapping tune below...



Johan Renck, the director of the commercial, has dished on the festive collaboration. 'We were inspired by the glitz, glamour, and opulence of the 1940s’ Big Band era,' he says. 'The mood is one of festive celebration shot through with a strong sense of fashion and an underlying humour. It is intriguing, curious, exuberant, audacious, and filled with wonder.'
 
We also know a H&M family of supermodels will also be involved and showcasing flirty red dresses, skirts and tops covered in sparkles. Of course, festive knits will make an appearance too, just like the cosy oversized sweater Gaga wears in the print campaign. This is going to be a good'un.

Sound the breaking news klaxon! H&M has just announced that the star of the Christmas campaign is... LADY GAGA! Not only that, but the star will be joined by her new bestie, Tony Bennett.

To make the most of the duo's singing credentials, the TV campaign (due to hit our screens in November) will feature the duo performing a track from their new album. How fabulous! 'Cheek to Cheek' is released on 23rd September and is a collaboration between Gaga and Tony in celebration of jazz music, so that gives us a hint at what's to come...

As H&M notes, Gaga makes the perfect choice for the jazzy campaign considering she 'bridges the worlds of music and fashion in everything she does'. And let's not forget, the songstress officially opened H&M’s Times Square flagship store in New York last year when fans queued for HOURS for the chance to meet and shop with Mother Monster. As for Tony Bennett, he's in his 7th decade as a world-class performer and did we mention he's the owner of no less than SEVENTEEN Grammy awards? Yep.

This is certainly welcome news considering it's been rather quiet on the Gagaloo front of late. Of course, she's continued to trot out many a wacktacular ensemble as she continues her artRAVE: ARTPOP Ball Tour, proving that she's still got the fashion X Factor.

But, we have to say, this is quite an unexpected choice, no? While Tony's best known for his crooning (rather than his style credentials), Gaga's wardrobe is utterly bonkers as opposed to the minimalist and accessible aesthetic that the high-street brand is famous for.

So what's your verdict? We've just got a sneak peek at the campaign and admittedly, that ginormous bouffant is rather marvellous (and no, we're not talking about you, Tony).
