British Fashion Awards 2013: Harry Styles Wins The British Style Award

Just in case you needed further evidence that Harry Styles conquered the world of fashion in 2013 the One Direction star has just won the British Style Award at the British Fashion Awards. It's no surprise that this trophy was voted for by the British public, as Harry's fans are fiercely loyal and vast in number, but he did have stiff competition from the likes of David Beckham, Kate Moss, the Duchess of Cambridge and his former flame Cara Delevingne.

Alexa Chung, who presented the award, made a joke of being snubbed from this year's Style Award nominees, as she said into an accidentally (but totally on purpose) left on mic 'This wouldn't happen to Kate Moss!' Harry Styles said when he arrived at the podium: 'I actually didn't think anyone was allowed to win apart from Alexa'

The man of the hour, who wore Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, gave a short and sweet speech after taking his trophy from Alexa and Jack Guinness. He told his fans, 'thank you for voting, this is very, very kind. Thank you for having me here, I really appreciate it. Thank you.'

The award "recognises an individual who most embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital." International is correct, as Harry continually jets around the globe with his bandmates, but while there have been whispers of a potential campaign in the works, so far Harry's fashion career has been limited to dating supermodels and making cameos at fashion shows.

He did walk the catwalk last month at the request of fashion legend Cindy Crawford when he proved that he's got a fiercer pout than Zoolander. We're expecting big things from Mr Styles' fashion future. After all, he takes over this accolade from three-time British Style Award winner Alexa Chung so he's clearly got the fash pack's seal of approval.
