So we've seen how the stars glam-up (and Taylor Swift's burgeoning career as a makeup artist) but now the action really begins! Yes, the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards is seriously hotting up and we're keeping a close eye on every style swish. Do join us!
For starters, both Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande have opted for leather numbers. While Miley is in Alexandre Vauthier Couture, Ariana's outfit comes courtesy of Moschino and Charli XCX has boldly chosen a leopard print jumpsuit also by the Italian fashion house. And Mr Moschino himself, Jeremy Scott, is also in the house! The designer has decided to ditch the shirt (hello abs!) in favour of a bright yellow blazer with a smiley face on the back, natch.
Model Chanel Iman is also representing the high-fashion front in a smokin' (and presumably pretty hot) black number while our very own Brit beauty Jourdan Dunn is looking as statuesque as ever in a crop top and matching skirt. And is that a new bob? Yes, we believe it is! Joan Smalls completes the Yonce army with all three catwalkers wearing Balmain. Amen to that.
As for the Kardashian Klan, the sisters look gorgeously matchy-matchy. Kim Kardashian is showcasing her famous assets in a plunging patterned frock (another Balmain winner) covered in beaded while her little sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, have stuck to a monochrome-only palette.

Considering this is the event that gave us Gaga's legendary meat dress, there's sure to be more than a few bonkers looks on the red carpet too. Kesha looks like a human rainbow thanks to her multi-toned hair-do set off by a sparkly Johanna Johnson gown. My Little Pony, eat yer heart out. Meanwhile, Amber Rose is treating us to a touch of The Rose McGowan in well, little more than some strategically-placed beads.

But perhaps the most jaw-dropping looks are from the stars who've broken out of their usual red carpet uniform. Hello Taylor Swift in a playsuit! And take a look at Solange Knowles who has well and truly ditched the brights for a full-on black suit from none other than H&M’s Studio Collection. Wowsers.
The best moment of the red carpet, however, has to go to Katy Perry and Riff Raff who recreated THAT iconic VMAs moment - you know, when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wore matching denim? What a classic. Hats off, K-Pez!
